the Idea : Industry Agreements (Actors, In-House ITV 1)
The industry agreement which should meet your needs is the
one negotiated between the ITV Companies and the British Actorsā Equity Association
(Equity).
The agreement is in two parts: the Main Agreement, and the
Walk-onsā Agreement. As well as actors, it covers singers, choreographers
and solo variety acts, with minimum fees set for each. A separate Appendix
covers the engagement of Stunt Arrangers and Performers.
The Main Agreement provides for a programme fee, which gives
the producing ITV Company the consents needed in order to make use of the
recorded performance and the right to
transmit
the programme in defined areas of the ITV network, or on the whole of it,
according to the level of fee paid. It provides for repeat fees, again for
part-network or whole-network transmissions.
It allows the producing ITV Company to acquire the right
to license the use of the recording containing the artistās performance for
transmission by other UK broadcasters (subject to certain conditions) and
overseas, subject to payments calculated as royalties ö ie a percentage of
the licence fee earned by the ITV Company, divided between the actors involved
in proportion to their original earnings.
The Main Agreement provides for daily and weekly fees for
