The agreement also provides for assembly fees payable to contractors who provide musicians, and for repeat and royalty fees based on them.

The agreement stipulates minimum fees for the musician’s work and for all these uses of it. Though the fees in the agreement are expressed as minima, they are usually in practice the rate paid. It also defines the conditions under which the work is undertaken: working hours, overtime payments, travel arrangements and so on. Though the fees payable to musicians under this agreement are different from those paid under the MU Television agreement, the rights (and the entitlement to acquire further rights on further payment) that it gives to the BBC are broadly similar.
