You will see that this Excel version of the Budget form starts with Schedule 5. The first four schedules ask for various practical information needed by the commissioning broadcaster, and summarise the bottom lines of the budget and cashflow schedule. You will be supplied with these schedules by the broadcaster, and expected to complete them. What this version contains is all the actual budget headings.

This document is in two parts: a full budget form (CTC) and a summary. Prepare your budget on the full form, and hide columns D, I, J and K.

Once the budget is agreed, and you are in production, put the agreed budget figures in column D, unhide columns I, J and K, and crunch the real figures.

The summary document is just that: for use when you don’t need the detail within each schedule of the budget provided by the full form.
