The
non-repetitive nature of television production need not make it difficult
for you, or those who work for you, to meet your health and safety obligations,
provided everybody concerned, the producer included, remembers a few sensible
principles and puts them into practice, as well as behaving with a degree
of common sense.
Recognising the particular difficulties of applying the law to an activity like film and television production, the Health and Safety Executive has published a useful guide for freelances. What it says applies just as much to producers and to the staff as well as the freelances who work for them.
