It also provides for the producer to obtain the performers rights he/she
needs from the actor. The basic fee buys a licence to a limited range of rights,
according to what the producer foresees as the programmes primary use,
and the actors consent to secondary uses. When and as the programme is
sold into secondary markets, the actor becomes entitled to further payments
in the form of royalties.
The agreement specifies that actors may only be engaged under standard contracts which incorporate the terms of the agreement. These contracts are obtainable from Equity at (tel) 44 (0)207-379-6000, or from the Producers Industrial Relations Service (PIRS).
