Discontinuous Recording Sessions may be extended in blocks of 15 minutes for additional performance, or in blocks of 30 minutes for additional rehearsal, in exchange for additional payments, except in the case of sessions where music for more than one episode of a series or serial is being recorded, when any extension of the musician’s work beyond 3 hours triggers a new 3-hour session, and a complete new session fee.

Other ways in which musicians may be engaged under this agreement are:

3. For recording short items from productions rehearsed and produced by organisations other than the BBC, for inclusion in Magazine, News, Documentary, Religious, Critical, etc programmes. For specified fees, items of up to 5 minutes’ aggregate length may be recorded in a session not exceeding an hour, and items of over 5 but not more than 10 minutes’ aggregate duration may be recorded in a session not exceeding 2 hours. No extra rehearsals or recording are permitted.
