Kosovo’s eastern borders with Serbia and Macedonia have breathtaking beauty but there are still single-ethnic Serb and Kosovar-Albanian villages nestling in the hills.

The multi-national task force (KFOR) has a duty to protect everyone in Kosovo regardless of ethnic origin. They make frequent patrols, communicating with the villagers through interpreters.

But the US 148 Infantry have other motives for getting to know the locals and hiking in the country...
