Jim says: Together with the
RNID I have been urging Government to give
Dorset Health Authorities more funding to
improve audiology units in Dorset hospitals.
I was therefore extremely pleased to hear
that three Dorset Health Trusts have been
allocated extra funding this year for these
improvements.
Following the announcement in April I contacted
the successful authorities - West Dorset
NHS Trust, South West and North Dorset Primary
Care Trusts encouraging them to take
up this opportunity and make a bid for this
allocated funding. Once the Trusts receive
the money they will be able to train staff
and buy audiology equipment. This means
that digital hearing aids could soon be
available for many people in the area.
