Setting Budgets

Good project management will ensure that your projects are completed on time and within budget. Good organisational skills are required to run your business and it is important to keep accurate financial records. Most freelancers employ an accountant, if only to help with annual tax and VAT returns, but good financial advice is invaluable.

Deciding what to charge clients, if this is not pre-determined, is an area you need to be confident in. Most freelancers use ratecards, but you need to be competitive and the project costs may vary depending on the client.
