Sound Recording
Sound can be recorded in different ways, or to be more accurate, using different microphones, and recording onto different devices. Here we outline the different aquisition formats available in the school (note: these may not be available to your course / year)

Background
Different types of microphones: tie clip, boom, radio mike, lip mike, lollypop mike. One of the handouts in the PDF DOWNLOAD section explains the difference between these microphones.
Different types of recording: DAT, MiniDisk, audio tape, miniDV, DVCPRO.

Notes
The DATS, TEACS and MiniDisk recorders are available for booking from the Production Office (P147) and must be booked and signed for 24 hours prior to collection.
