What is Soundscape?
Soundscape is an eight track sound mixing and editing facility. Running on a PC with dedicated hardware, it allows you to import sound from DAT and mix tracks together adding effects and music. It is used extensively in the school for producing radio programmes, internet broadcasts and audio assignments.

Background
Computer technology has impacted on all areas of the media industry. Sound post production is one of those areas. Gone are the days when editing is done by splicing quarter inch tape together. Now, Soundscape is one of several leading packages that offers a nonlinear editing approach. You can mix up to eight tracks together, with full mixer control at CD quality sound. There are many Soundscape units in the school.

Notes
Soundscape (P112) can be booked from the Production Office (P147) up to 24 hours before you wish to use it.
