What is the Television Studio?
The TV studio is a 3 camera studio employing new Hitachi widescreen switchable cameras, a 24 channel Bosch vision mixer and an Aston 4 caption generator.The recording and play-in is currently on Betacam. The studio itself is equipt with 8 2Kw Castor pole operated lights plus Psyche lights and redheads. One camera uses a portaprompt autocue.

Background
The next phase of the current upgrading programme is to install new lighting dimmer packs and control desk allowing 24 channel pre-programmable lighting set ups. Also many more 1Kw lights are to be fitted plus footlights.

The final phase of the upgrading will be to install a new vision mixer which hopefully will facilitate video streaming to the intranet and internet. Already computer network sockets have been installed both in the studio and the gallery and the existing link with Nerve TV has been improved thus emphasising the continued focus on the TV studio as a source of hands on live programmes.
