Although there is plenty of established theory
on marketing practice a real understanding of what marketers
do can only be gained by listening to practitioners. For the
development of this site we spoke to four practitioners about
their work and about their views on marketing in general.
Spencer
Brace, Sales & Marketing Manager, Bournemouth International
Airport.
Spencer has many years experience in the airline industry and until
recently worked in sales and marketing at Gatwick Airport. He recently
joined Bournemouth Airport and is responsible for both trade and
consumer marketing activity.
Heather Moore, Marketing and Promotions
Officer Marwell Zoo, Hampshire.
Heather is in charge of the marketing and event management at
the Zoo having moved quite recently to this charity attraction
from
the travel industry.
Stuart Perl, Regional Director of Marketing
for Europe the Middle East and Africa for Cunard Line Seaborne
Cruise Line.
Stuart is a senior member of staff in this multi national company
having worked for them for nearly ten years. His responsibility
includes the marketing activity for the cruise ship fleet covering
a vast geographic area.
Jon Weaver, Marketing Manager, Bournemouth
Borough Council.
Jon has a wide remit covering tourism, Lester centres and events
covering the Bournemouth region. Bournemouth is one of the
leading resorts in the UK. |
